To be dynamic, or not to be dynamic? That is the question. As a novice in this web/blog field, I even did NOT know the question exists. Static site was just chosen based on the GOOGLE search keyword ‘How to create a personal blog’ when I started this blog. As a person knows some DTA stuff, let’s add some dynamic favor to this static site using Firestore by Google Cloud!
Hexo - Add Word Count
Showing word counts and reading time initially seemed to be a fancy feature. Easy to implement but may cause the title block a little bit too congested. Actually, tonight I also added view count via Google Firebase, which is pretty cool feature! This will be documented tomorrow night…it’s getting really late or you can say early at the moment.
Hexo - Add Audio Player
A MUST READ ARTICLE. It discusses adding js files as audio player with customerized CSS. I think with these two skills, you can implement anything on Hexo blog. With an exception to reaching users from mainland China, though it’s not a technical issue…
Hexo - Add Customized Leaflet Map
Tips & steps to add Leaflet map to Hexo. This also discusses how to add html file & javascript to Hexo Blog!
Hexo - Add Site Map
Float up to the top in Google search! Yes, only Google not Baidu the second largest search engine in the world.
Hexo - Add Gitalk Comment
A simple instruction on how to add Gitalk but lengthy discussion on why I selected Gitalk and some further issues with this plugin after implementation.
hexoTips
This is just my study note archiving useful tricks & tips for Hexo blog development. Another boring technical post.
Hexo Initial Setup
This is my first post of this blog, which I should have documented why and how I made the decision along the way back in May 2019 to quit my job and start my sabbtical on traveling South America and hopefully Africa. Now it’s July 15, 2019, I was distracted by many other tasks, and interests since the day of my big decision. The post actually documented why and how I created this blog. It is a boring technical blog, I enjoyed it very much. Anyway, I am not good at writing prose in English nor in Chinese anyway. So take it or leave it!
